A slew of successful horror directors will be shifting gears and showing their skill and creativity by working in another genre. Safran Digital Group and Microsoft have announced that they have partnered with horror masters who will produce 10-minute comedic films as the first original programming and HD content for the fall launch of Xbox Live.
James Wan (Saw), David Slade (30 Days of Night), Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and James Gunn (Slither) will create 10-minute, bite-sized films expressly for the launch of Xbox's Live Experience user interface. SDG's CEO Peter Safran stated that many horror fans are also huge Xbox gamers, making the deal a no-brainer. The films are meant to be watched like a content "appetizer" for Xboxers to check out before they delve into their games.
