Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell are bankable box office gold. Columbia Pictures has teamed the popular funnymen up to play British sleuths Sherlock Holmes and his crime-busting partner Watson, respectively. The film's title is yet to be determined, as are production dates.
Judd Apatow will produce the picture, further upping the laugh quotient of this comedy, inspired by the literary tales of author Arthur Conan Doyle. Cohen and Ferrell have teamed up before, exhibiting hilarious chemistry in 2006's race car comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, which was a runaway success.
This isn't the only Sherlock Holmes feature being adapted as of late. Guy Ritchie, who has been battling rumors that he and wife Madonna are headed for Splitsville, is working on a modern reimagining of Holmes for Warner Bros.
